Running 4.2 miles, the Boone County MKT trail stands in contrast to its city counterpart in Columbia. Suburban homes and landscapes quickly give way to farmland and small bluffs. Occasional flooding from the Hinkson and Perche Creeks rejuvenates fertile land and gives rise to a diverse ecosystem. Whether walking or biking, it is a peaceful retreat from daily life.
This geocache may end up being anything but peaceful. Bring water, some patience and possibly a sandwich. The posted coordinates are somewhat inaccurate as a definite reading could not be obtained due to the terrain. Be sure to use common sense when searching, and do not climb on the bluffs as they are comprised of loose rock. The container you seek is not next to the bench. Stealth may be required as the MKT is often busy. As always, please replace the geocache precisely as it was discovered to keep it out of sight. Only seek the cache when the trail is open: sunrise to sunset.
