Cathedral Square, locally known simply as the Square, is the geographical centre and heart of Christchurch, New Zealand, where the city's Anglican cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral is located.
The square stands at the theoretical crossing of two of the city's main streets, Colombo Street and Worcester Street, though in practice both have been either blocked off or detoured around the square itself.
The Square has been mostly closed off from the public since 22 Feb 2011 when the city was devastated by a mag 6.1 Earthquake that was centred in the Port Hills, less that 10km from the CDB.
Now that the public is allowed back into the CDB (with a few cordons still in place) it's time to get another cache out there.
In the past, the Square would have been a very busy area, especially so over the summer months, so there's a good chance there will be people in the are when you are searching for this cache.
Please be very stealthy...cache has been stolen a couple of times already. Now a magnetic nano to try to ensure it's longevity.
Rated a 2 difficulty due to the potential high pedestrian count.
No room for swaps. Bring your own pen. Please replace carefully, and so it is not easily spotted by people who are unaware of what geocaching is! No need for one signature in each box on the logsheet. Save some space by filling each box before signing a new box
As this is a pretty busy cache, sign log with INITIALS ONLY IF POSSIBLE PLEASE
