NOTE: This is a mid-week event to opportune those who aren't normally free for the weekend events. But everyone is invited. Bring the kids! It's educational, kid-friendly, off the couch and FAT-FREE!

Crescent Hill Reservoir Walkabout


The Mysterious Gothic Gatehouse


When: July 17, 2013 (Wednesday) 6:30pm
Where: Crescent Hill Reservior Park
Why: Because you won't get a tour of the gatehouse -and- all the water you can drink anywhere else!

It's time for a Fat-Free Event, so let's get together and do a MILE for a SMILE! We'll meet at the steps leading to the mysterious gothic Gatehouse and take a special tour inside. There'll be old photos, drawings and a short movie of old Louisville. Our guide will tell interesting stories and answer all questions. Then we do one lap around the reservoir and end it at the spout. All you can drink - on me. How cool is that!


Did I mention FAT-FREE!

What to expect: Ever wonder where your (Louisville area) water comes from? Ok, I mean between the Ohio River and your tap. Well, during this event you'll get a tour of the Crescent Hill Water Reservoir Gatehouse which is -not- open to the general public. Yep we're going inside the (1879) Gatehouse and hear all about the history of water. Bring your camera and get a shot from the top of the stairs! After that it's a .86/mile around the reservoir and all the water you can drink - on me! Bring all your water jugs and bottles, there's a modern spring here and you can take all the fresh water you can haul - FREE!

No pets are allowed up the steps around the water we all drink, but there -is- a spout just for the pups at the modern spring!
