Bega Cemetery was established in 1902. Prevoius to this, people who died between 1857 and 1902 were buried where Bega High School now stands (it was opened in 1952). It is understood that by 1947 all the headstones were moved to the current location and no bodies were disturbed. Bega cemetery is a beautiful location overlooking green farmland.
