Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. But you will find a rock there, with a bronze plaque secured to it. Look for the YEAR that the plaque was dedicated. Add up all the numbers of the date. Call that number 'A.'

'A' x 100 will give you the distance to WP2 from the posted. 'A' x 20.75 will give you the bearing in degrees true. Off you go.

At WP2 you will be looking for a black number and a letter on a yellow background. Look to the west. Digital Root the total, number plus letter value, and call that number 'B.'

Project a WP from WP2 to the GZ - 'B' x 40 metres @ ('B' x 24) minus 2 degrees true.

Although the cache may look like it's along the shoreline, it IS NOT. It's on a tree overhanging the river and is NOT accessible from the private property along the nearby road to the west.

Neither can you walk along the shoreline to get to the GZ, there simply is none.

You will need water transportation to reach the cache once at the GZ, which is usually reachable from your watercraft. Keep in mind that during low water conditions you WILL need to exit your craft to get to some of the containers in this series.

This cache will take you to the Bow of the Jock Park, where you'll find a dock to launch your cartop boat from. Careful of all the poison ivy along the shoreline though.

Watch for painted turtles sunning themselves on logs, and green herons perched on poles on the way to the GZ. On your way to the GZ you'll see the remains of an old bridge that crossed the river years ago, before my time.

There is a poison ivy free spot to launch a kayak at N 45° 15.037 W 75° 48.471. Head away from the dock from the parking lot, to the south corner of the park.

FREE canoe and kayak (Rooftop boats only) launch and parking at N 45° 15.157 W 75° 48.480 (dock).
