Cooper Center is a fun place to be on the 4th of July! This is a big event for Volcano Village where there is a parade that starts at the Post Office and then ends at a festival at Cooper Center. This is being placed on July 4, 2013 so if you happen to be at the celebration, come and be the first to find!
Cooper Center is the main community center of Volcano Village. It not only hosts the Community Center with a Thrift Store and Farmer's Market, but it also has a pretty new playground and is the first Skate Park on the island! Come and see all of what Cooper Center has to offer!
I placed this cache for the 4th of July as I have been coming here since 2004 as a part of the local community theater Kilauea Drama and Entertainment Network (KDEN). KDEN is not only a part of the parade, but they also provide a part of the entertainment for the festival with songs from the current summer musical.
KDEN has been performing summer musicals since 2002 with its start as Man of La Mancha. Since then they have performed the following during the summer:
