Please replace the logbook (and let us know when done) - Thanks!
You can get to the cache by either parking your car in Sáme on the road leading to the cemetery, just near the ruins of the ancient Roman baths. In this case, look for the information board showing the trails. The small path to the old church St. Fanéndes starts right next to it. Or take your car all the way up to the ancient acropolis of Sáme (follow signs in town) and leave your car at St. Fanéndes. From there, follow signs to "spring" and make your way downhill to the cache.
Either way, it is worth doing the whole trail as it is very beautiful. Enjoy the great views of Sáme and the bay. Visit the ruins of a cloister next to Ágia Fanéndes. It was errected on top of the ancient acropolis Kyatis. The paved road from St. Fanéndes leads to the main acropolis called Paleókastro. All that remains of it is one of the gates and only part of the big wall which once stretched for 3.5 km.
Anyway, make sure you bring suitable footwear for a stony and sometimes slippery climb and enough of water!
The cache container is made of blue and silver coloured plastic. It is hidden in a stone wall. The cache contains a logbook. Please bring your own pen! The container may fit coins, travelbugs, and small items to swap.
Please log your name and where you are from!
Thanks to our uncle in Sáme who has kindly offered to maintain the cache during our absence!
Happy hunting!
Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local cache guardian. Name and contact info on file with geocaching.com.
