FAQ
Q: So I need to find 50 caches on islands, right?
A: Not exactly, you need to find 50 caches on 50 different islands.
Q: What types of caches count?
A: Anything goes. You attend an event where the posted coordinates are on an island, count it. An old virtual on an island? Okay.
Q: What counts as an island?
A: Any land surrounded by water, generally speaking.
Q: So do continents count then?
A: Well, Australia and Antarctica are okay.
Q: Does the island have to have a name?
A: No.
Q: Can the island be connected to the mainland, by a bridge for example?
A: Yes.
Q: Does Mont St-Michel count? It's not surrounded by water all the time.
It's a tidal island. Count it. For some nearby caches, note that Downtown Northfield does not count because it generally is not surrounded by water believe it or not.
Q: If one found a cache on the island in the middle of the lake in the middle of Isle Royal would that count as two islands?
A: Nope.
Q: Do hiders of island caches get granted any credit for their hides?
A: Seeing how they could claim a find for their own hides anyway, I guess that'd be okay.
Q: Does this island count?
A: Okay.
Q: How to log?
A: A list naming the islands or their location, e.g. in the Cannon, would be good. Also it should be verifiably an island somehow e.g. according to the map, description, etc.
