Geocache Description:

The reserve is tranquil with wonderful scenery where the Jordan River meanders through high-walled gorges. Shady willow trees beside the river provide an ideal spot for a picnic or a braai.

The reserve’s typical Free State scenery - koppies (hillocks), grasslands and sheltered kloofs with indigenous vegetation – are a treat for birdwatchers. The nearby Loch Athlone and Sol Plaatjie dams also attract plenty of waterfowl.

Take the kids dassie spotting. There are plenty of these distant relatives of the elephant sunning themselves on Pretoriouskloof’s sandstone boulders.
