RISE, aka the Balls on the Falls, (or Westicles), is a concept £400,000 public art spherical metal sculpture by Wolfgang Buttress 37.5 metres (123 ft) high and 30 metres (98.4 ft) wide, constructed 2011 in the centre of the Broadway roundabout, at the junction of the Westlink and M1 motorway.
The globe-shaped, white and silver steel sculpture is a representation of a new sun rising to celebrate a new chapter in the history of Belfast.
The sculptor has had encouraged input from local people living near the landmark sculpture. He held creative workshops with groups from the Donegall Road and St James' areas of Belfast.
At most times you're going to be surrounded by hundreds of driving muggles, and there are plenty of them walking, jogging and cycling across this junction, but it should still be fairly easy to be subtle enough. The micro cache contains a log and pencil, and has a specific mechanism of placement, so when replacing please ensure it is "secured" and accessible. Parking is probably easiest on the nearby Donegall road, or in the Park Centre car park
