My wife and I first moved up here from Southern California to join my brother and his wife in 1980 to work for a major forest products company. Little did I know that during those 28 years I worked at that company, I'd be moved around from one building to another for a total of 11 times. This location was my 8th place of employment with the same company from about '98-'00.
This building was know as The Tacoma Building (TB). Here I continued to administer the company's employees' accounts along with their email accounts. It was also here where we all prepared ourselves for the "Y2K" disaster that never happened, because we prepared for it. I loved this location because at lunch time I could run (actually walk) all my errands because everything was within walking distance...banks, post office, credit union and farmers' market and park. I worked on the 4th floor of this 11-story building, looking at the covered parking lot (great during bad weather) across the street.
The bridge was built in 1910 and was closed in 2006 for restoration and renovations at a cost more than $57 million.
As mentioned earlier, this is a nano and delicately placed. So, be careful when retrieving and replacing the cache. It's a long ways down there, but retrievable, if needed. You'll understand once you find it. Parking is another thing. It's pay parking in the area with a $.25 minimum from 8am-6pm, except Sunday and holidays.
