Geocache Description:

Bike or Hike. In full, a 20 mile power trail taking in two counties, Cheshire and Flintshire. Starting in Cheshire Oaks on Route 563, the trail winds its way down to the Welsh border and on to the River Dee, eventually coming out in the outskirts of Chester City Centre. From there, we pick up Route 45 on to the canal, which evolves into Routes 56 and 5 until we come out onto the A5117. From there, the route heads back towards Cheshire Oaks, past the Designer Outlet and back to the start. The route is split up into five stages and these will be released at each launch event over the coming year. Dust down those bikes or polish your walking boots and get ready!

This is the fifth and final stage of the Bike or Hike trail, which is 4 miles long. New caches will be released during the afternoon but we will be meeting up in the morning at 10:00 to bike/hike the route. Each stage is linear and it is not compulsory to do the new caches, you could wait until they are all published or just come to the event.

For the last Bike or Hike event, we’ll be returning to ‘the home of the Bike or Hike’ - the Wheatsheaf in Mollington on Saturday 23rd November 2013 from 17:30, although you are always welcome to arrive earlier to order food. A raffle and quiz will be taking place during the evening and any donations of raffle prizes will be gratefully received. It would also be appreciated if you can say if you are eating and if so, how many in your ‘will attend’ log so I can keep the pub informed. I hope to see you there! Menus for the pub, along with a full address can be found via the ‘Related Webpage’ link at the top of the page.

Any updates will be posted here:

With less than a week to go, there are some updates regarding the event: The main parking co-ordinates for the morning meet are: N53 14.163 W002 54.035 although parking here IS limited so you will have to either park in other side roads or really cram in! The end parking however is not limited because there are hundreds of spaces! N53 15.785 W002 53.239. It might be an idea to park at the end and if you are prepared to walk/cycle both ways, you can start earlier at the end, walk to the meeting point and walk back with the group. We will be meeting at Bike or Hike - Zeus55 and anyone who hasn't done that cache can have a go at doing it. The raffle in the evening will be in aid of my World Scout Jamboree fund and tickets will be £2 per strip or 3 for £5. any raffle prizes will be gratefully received. Sir Steve of Harveyjj has been hard at work and has produced 3 profile badges for this event and finding the caches, along with completing the series. You will have all received the co-ordinates for the new caches now, I can't stress enough the importance of the route diversion! See the bottom of the email! Keep checking for more updates!

These fab profile badges are available for attending this event and finding the caches!
