White-tailed Deer Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Heartland Cacher: Greetings I'm Heartland Cacher, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.

Please use the “Write Note” feature to leave notes on the cache page. After you have done “Owner maintenance” be sure that you enable your cache. There are instructions on how to enable your cache in this note

Please do not use the "OWNER MAINTENANCE" log until you do the maintenance and the cache is ready to be found again.

This cache was brought to my attention by one or more of your fellow cachers that think this cache is missing and/or in need of maintenance. I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner the opportunity to check on the cache, and repair it, if necessary. Cache maintenance includes listing maintenance including updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing needs maintenance attributes and enabling the listing. If the owner feels they will not be able to repair this in a timely manner, let me know, and I'll archive it. This will keep the cache from continually showing up in search lists. It can be enabled once you have made repairs.

I am temporarily disabling this cache but when you have edited your cache page and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. You can re-enable the cache page with the directions found here: That will place it back in the review queue. If a "Needs Maintenance" log was posted, you will also need to log an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" icon from the geocache page. CLEAR NEEDS MAINTENANCE

I look forward to hearing from you. Do not reply to this email. It is sent by a no-reply mailbot so I won't get it. To respond, please do NOT send me an e-mail or a message center conversation as they lack needed functionality for reviewing. Leave a new "Reviewer Note" log here on your cache page. If you're not familiar with this process, see the instructions FOUND HERE. I have your cache on my watchlist, and I will receive a notification when you write your note.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived." Cache maintenance includes listing maintenance including, but not limited to, updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing needs maintenance attributes and enabling the listing.

Additionally, if more than four weeks have passed without a response, the cache page will be considered abandoned. Abandoned cache pages may be archived at a future date without notice. Don't let your cache get archived for non-communication.

Thanks for your understanding,
Heartland Cacher

Geocache Description:

Since white-tailed deer are so plentiful in this area (hitting them with your car is NOT recommended), we decided to make this one a bit more challenging by hiding a silver nano on a bridge.  GO!!!!

BOOOOOOOO! The silver nano has now fallen off the bridge twice, that's $10 worth of cache contaiers gone! A small reward for whoever finds my silver nanos in the grass. So now it's a bison tube stuck on the bridge. GO!

The white-tailed deer is the official state mammal for Nebraska.  This is cache #19 in a series of 27 caches honoring the state symbols of Kansas and Nebraska along State Line Road.

The white-tailed deer (scientific name: Odocoileus virginianus) was adopted as the state mammal in 1981.  White-tailed deer can run up to 40mph, jump 9 foot fences and swim 13mph.  The white underside of the deer's tail waves when running and is flashed as a warning sign when danger is sensed.  White-tailed deer are found all over the state of Nebraska and are a popular game animal for hunters.  The males grow seasonal antlers beginning in April or May and shed them in December or January.  The antlers can be used to help dig for food, but are primarily used to attract mates and to fight off other males during the rut (mating season) which typically occurs during early or mid-November in Nebraska.  The white-tailed deer also happens to be trainluvr79's favorite animal to hunt.
