When I was a teenager, my two best friends lived (and still are and do!) on the B-Line Road. There were countless times that I would ride my CCM Targa out to visit them from town. Cycling over this bridge was certainly one of the "waypoints" which I used to judge how far along I was on my trip.
That was a good number of years before the bridge reconstruction. I'm sure that the long time residents along the road would remember the bridge work since it probably would have forced them to go around the long way.
To find this cache, you will have to read the text on the dedication plaque on the bridge and make some simple calculations. (One of the questions (B) requires a bit of Internet research which can be done before leaving home unless you have a data plan/smartphone.)
The north coordinates are determined by this simple calculation:
Subtract 20 from the last two digits of the year the bridge was opened AND then subtract that number from the decimal minutes of the posted north coordinates.
The west coordinates follow the formula W077° 08.ABC.
A = DR (digital root) of the last name of the Reeve.
B = The Township of Alice and Fraser no longer exists. Calculate the DR of the digits of the day (not the month) and the year the new township was created.
C = How many councillors are listed on the plaque?
Please take care when parking along the side of the road when observing the plaque. Parking is a bit better at GZ which is a short walk/drive away.
Congratulations to scotian for being FTF!
