Welcome to the University of Saskatchewan’s Prairie Habitat Garden. The garden is a great place for students, teachers and people in general to learn about the habitat that existed here long Europeans arrived as it is home to a variety of native plant species and a few non-native species that we are working to eliminate. You will see plants like Bergamot, Giant Hyssop, lots of Wild Rose bushes, Wild Licorice and may be fortunate enough to have an encounter with a Bumble Bee and a Richardson Ground Squirrel. Established by students in the College of Education in 2005, the garden contains a traditional First Nations medicine wheel which has been blessed by an elder but isn't considered active because it is not used on an ongoing basis. I hope you'll take the time to wander through the garden and enjoy a feast for your senses.
Congratulations Northbound and Polarcat for FTF! It was wonderful to meet you!
