Geocache Description:

Het bekendste monument in Vilvoorde is het Tuchthuis. Dit imposante gevangeniscomplex uit 1779 werd ontworpen door hofarchitect L.B. Dewez. Het idee achter het Tuchthuis was niet alleen de criminelen opsluiten, maar ook de strijd voeren tegen de bedelarij, de landlopers en de prostituées.
