Geocache Description:

The Central Oregon Coast is home to Yachats, Gem of the Oregon Coast with great walking, hiking, biking, scenic, and historical sites. Filling in a passport with 20 passwords from 26 possible caches will earn you the Yachats Geocoin , a beautiful coin designed by ThunderingRocks.

The Cook name is associated with the Cape Perpetua area as Captain James Cook named the cape Perpetua as he sighted in on St. Perpetua's Day which was March 7th 1778. Perpetua is the name of a Third Century Christian martyr who was alleged to have died on March 7th 203. Captain Cook was not the first explorer to pass by the Cape but is credited with naming it. Cook was searching for the fabled Northwest Passage.

This trail head is the upper gateway to the extensive Cape Perpetua trail system with over 26 miles of trails. They range from easy to very difficult ranging through coastal spruce forests to ocean overlooks.

If you are trying to complete the Scenic Yachats tour to earn the Yachats Geocoin make sure you record the password on this inside cover of the cache. The Passport can be viewed and printed at goyachats.com/Geocaching. See GC4FTEN for details.

You are looking for a camo pill bottle container. Please re-hide well.
