Scenic Yachats #22 – Thar Be Wilderness Here Traditional Cache

The Central Oregon Coast is home to Yachats, Gem of the Oregon Coast with great walking, hiking, biking, scenic, and historical sites. Filling in a passport with 20 passwords from 26 possible caches will earn you the Yachats Geocoin , a beautiful coin designed by ThunderingRocks.

The road you are on marks the northern boundary on the Cummins Creek Wilderness area. The Cummins Creek Wilderness features the only old-growth Sitka Spruce forest in in the Oregon wilderness system. The wilderness area includes Cummins Creek and Cummins Ridge and covers an area of over 9,000 acres. The name Cummins is from an early area pioneer name F. L. Cummins.
