Jebel Fahd aka Leopard mountain reached it historical high point during the oil exploration of 1950. The desert is flat as a wash board and this mountain stands out like a whale back. Right next to an airbase, the place is home to few oil rigs and ghaf trees. On the highway to salalah, turn right at Ibri and follow directions to Jebel Fahud. Handful of supermarkets and restaurants for the intrepid traveler stock up also available. Lots of fossils to find in the vicinity, so keep an eye out.
Container is a lock n lock with few goodies and a log book. Do carry pen along to sign. Buried under a small cairn midway on the hillock. All the rcoks are of the same shade so please dont lose patience. Climb from the inside edge and you will easily see the siloutte of the cairn against the sky. It’s an easy park and grab, if you actually get that far :)
Enjoy the drive and good luck!
