Calderglen park is a great country park on the outskirts of East Kilbride. It's classed as a 4 star tourist attraction.
It has great facilities including a small animal zoo, a great cafeteria and good play areas for children. It also has a family BBQ area. It is the home of East Kilbride Rugby and Cricket Clubs and has an 18 hole golf course.
As well as this it has wonderful walks in both directions along the Rotten Calder. You can wander up to Langlands Moss or go in the opposite direction towards Hamilton. Along the way you will find some lovely little waterfalls too.
This is one of a number of caches along the less popular route towards Hamilton. In the summer this part of the park receives less attention and can be somewhat overgrown but there are loads of brambles for picking if you fancy making some jam or even wine! It also offers a more strenuous work out along the way than the more popular route to Langlands Moss.
This cache is placed at the Overflow car park. The coordinates for the cache are the same as those for the parking. The main parking area is in the park itself. No exercise required unless you want to get the other caches placed along the route!
Needless to say this area is muggle and duggle central. After all it is a car park! This cache has been placed by kind permission from the Calderglen Rangers Service.
