Huyton Business Park has grown over the years helped by its location close to the junction of the M62 and M57 Motorways. I go back far enough to remember it as open fields and one of my first jobs as a surveyor 50+ years ago was to assess for royalties the volume of clay being taken out of a clayhole for brickmaking by Tushinghams. I can remember being driven at 100mph along Ellis Ashton Stret in his new Mini Cooper by Henry Tushingham when that was perfectly legal - though maybe a bit hazardous, but there was nothing around and certainly no traffic. After that I was involved as agent in the sale of some of the land for the estate and for the new motorway, the M57.
