Geocache Description:

This is #14 in the series. It is located at the intersection of Leppert Rd. and Bunker Hill Rd. You will turn onto the dirt road that would lead you to PBS Augustus Mine.  As soon as you make the turn onto the road, there are woods and it is down over the bank. You can park right there. Very well-maintained. The cache is not inside the cemetery but in the woods surrounding the cemetery.

According to the book, "Shade Township Revisited", the old Stotler Cemetery is located on the Guy Lambert Farm near the village of Gahagen.  It is the oldest cemetery in Shade Township. The first burial there was in 1798.  Interred here are many of the pioneer settlers of Shade Township and veterans of three wars- the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, and the Civil War.  Some names are Casper Stotler and wife Rebecca, George Lambert and wife Elizabeth (Stotler) Lambert, John Stotler and wife Margaret, Jacob Lambert, Jonathan Sorber, John Wagner and wife Eleanor, Samuel Stotler and wife Eleanor, Jacob Lambert, Jr.,and wife Margaret, Daniel Stotler and wife Sarah, John Stotler Jr., and wife Eleanor, and Andrew Stotler and wife Sophia, Margaretha (Upp) Lambert, mother of Jacob, John and George Lambert, the three brothers, who first came to Shade Township in 1789.
