The Clova School at one time was situated 3 miles North and 1 mile East of MacNutt. The Clova school was in operation from 1903 to 1966, in one form or another. This school was one of hundreds of small country schools that dotted the Saskatchewan landscape at one time. Clova School was named for a village in Scotland that the pioneers once knew in their youth.
The building has now moved to Calder and was renovated into a comfortable home for a local town resident. A cairn now marks the land where the school once was located.
I attended this country school for 6 years before it eventually closed. Later I completed my Grade schooling in MacNutt.
