This is my second attempt to keep a cache here. Lets see what happens this time.
Located in Bakers Shaft Reserve on the banks of the Belubula River.
Bakers Shaft Reserve is a beautiful little camp site/picnic area on the banks of a small flowing river just 15km's from the town of Mandurama. The camp sites are flat and grassy. This is a truly peaceful place to stop and escape the rat race. If you plan to camp, bring everything with you. Apart from a pit dunny, there isn't any other facilities to speak of.
To access the site you will need to plot a drive from Mandurama north west to Burnt Yards. Turn onto Bakers Rd. The last few hundred meters takes you along a lane between 2 farm paddocks. The terrain rating is for this last little bit. You could take a 2wd car down here on a dry day but it's only a clay track and it was a bit soft and slippery on the day I placed the cache. (It's nice to see a spot of rain.) The creek crossings have a concrete base but the approach and departures are a bit chopped up. Common sense will see you through it.
There was plenty of water in the river the day I was there so pack some swimmers and a pair of old shoes if the weather is warm enough. (It was late June when I placed the hide so I wasn't going anywhere near the water.)
GZ is not too complicated so enjoy the hunt and take it easy. The cache is now a film canister. Should still be an easy find.
