Born on the Fourth of ? Traditional Cache

The area where this micro cache is hidden is a beautiful piece of nature on the edge of Ljubljana. It is a popular recreation area with local residents and one of my favorite destinations for mountainbiking in Ljubljana. There is always a new downhill trail to discover. But it is also great for hiking. There are many trails suitable for walking in this lush forest. Check it out, enjoy the calmness of the forest, hug a tree and relax in the heart of nature.

There are 6 caches hidden along the forest trails (plus one bonus). This is number 1. It is micro size. Of course, you can also do the series the other way around (from big to small), but the bonus is closer to the biggest treasure

The idea for this series of 6 caches was born on the birthday of my daughter. To surprise her I had organized a private little birthday-geohunt in this forest. With the help of the corresponding coordinates and a GPS-device she had to search for her presents. She enjoyed it a lot (and so did I). And then I thought that I could "recycle" some of the hiding places for official geocaching as well. The hiding place of this cache is the first spot where my daughter had to search for a present.

Advice for this cache and the other 5:

1. Wear hiking boots or at least robust shoes with a higher sole as it can be quite muddy on the trails (especially after rain). You can also do all 6 caches by mountain bike.

2. Write down the coords of your starting point or save them to your GPS-device. There are many trails in this area and you can get lost quite easily.

3. GPS navigation is not very accurate in the depth of the forest (plus/minus 10-15 m). If you do not feel like searching geocaching style, follow the hint and/or look at the spoiler picture.

4. Watch your step and do not trample down offshoots of young trees. Respect nature!

Directions for cachers without a car:

It is also possible to get to the starting point of the forest trail by bus. Take the city bus 14 B to Bokalce and get off at the terminal stop (named Bokalce). It is important that you take the bus 14 B and not the number 14 (that one will take you somewhere else). At the terminus you will see a roundabout. Take the road to Bokalce (there is a sign with this name on it) and follow it for ca. 50 meters. Then you will see a little dead-end street (named Gric) on your right. Follow it all the way. It will lead you directly to the starting point of the forest trail (see waypoint).
