Smithy Traditional Cache

Smithy is a small traditional cache in Chippokes Plantation State Park.  The Park is open from 8:00am until dusk.  There is a parking fee for entering the Park.  Please park in designated areas only.  See http://chippokes.com/calendar.htm calendar for schedule of events and activities.

Much of this Park is in its natural, wild state.  As such, you can expect, insects, spiders, snakes, briars, etc.  Please take appropriate care and precautions when venturing into the un-mowed areas.  (See Chippokes.com for suggestions.)

Cache is a small clear bottle where a blacksmith shop used to be.  It is only a short hike from the Mansion parking area.  Start down the James River Trail past the Mansion, going toward the river. 

PLEASE PUT CONTAINER BACK EXACTLY WHERE YOU FOUND IT taking care to leave the cache well-sealed and well-hidden before leaving it.  If it needs maintenance – log missing or wet, etc. – please leave a “Maintenance Log.
