The Suffolk County Dept. of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services (FRES) is committed to serving both the 1.5 million residents of Suffolk County and the responders who are dedicated to saving lives and property. FRES handles approx. 200,000 emergency calls each year. Communications with the emergency responders is broken up between Fire Communications (FIRECOM) and Medical Communications (MEDCOM).
