Geocache Description:

This cache is not at the published coordinates - these are for the car park for Dunblane Cathedral. In order to work out the cache coordinates there is a set of questions to answer, with the information required being provided on various signs dotted around Dunblane.

There are 16 of the signs in total (that I have found!) that provide pieces of information about the history of Dunblane. The locations of each of these signs are provided as waypoints - you don't need to visit all of these for the clues but I have included them all so that you can visit them.

The coordinates for the cache are: N 56° AB.CDE W 003° FG.HJK. This can be solved using the clues below. The final cache position is on the opposite side of the Allanwater River to the historic signs.

- Leighton Library was set up as a result of a bequest by Robert Leighton of his books and £A00.
- A bridge was first built across the river in Dunblane in about 14B0.
- Bank House, on the High Street, was built in 18C5. Balhaldie House dates from 16D5.
- The Minnie Burn was used as an escape route by a maidservant of Balhaldie House on 5/E/1746.
- The Dunblane sheriff court covered west Perthshire till 197F.
- Robert Burns visited the Stirling Arms in 17G7.
- Robert Leighton was bishop of Dunblane between 1661 and 167H.
- The present building of the Stirling Arms dates from 177J.
- The tollbooth was built near the Cathedral in 16K0.
