Congrats to pyitegroove on the FTF, so glad you rang the bell and said hello..
Lots of young muggles, so play it cool.
Ignore all the "No Parking" signs and park in front, it will be ok for the few minutes you are here, or park at the end of the drive. The subdivision was designed to have narrower roadways in exchange for using the extra land saved to make multiple green spaces, making the roads impractical for long-term street parking. (Hence, the signs) This is our house so you have our permission to cache in the front of the house AND to discover the TBs we have on some of our cars.
A few tips for brand new cachers:
Remember to sign the yellow log book with your caching names and date. You can write a note too if you'd like.
Swag (the fun stuff and toys) are for trade, take something and leave something of equal value or "coolness". Unless this is your very first find EVER or you are a little kid, then take a souvenir, I won't tell.
If you find an item with a tag on it with a tracking number, it is not swag. If you take it, you MUST be willing to log it on the trackables page of the geocaching.com website and then place it in another cache within a few weeks at most. This also means you will have to log it a second time to indicate that you moved it to another cache. I put a separate box inside the cache to try to keep these sorted out to make it easier.
Thanks for playing and happy caching!!!
