Dedicated to the utterance of MuggleWife as we came over this ridge from the west.
In the January of 2012 a group of four of us were walking up the west face of Mt Buller as part of a training exercise for Oxfam Trailwalker 2012. We started out from Dougherty's Road just out of Sawmill Settlement. The first part of the walk had us on a moderately steep 2 km climb up to this location to find a superb view of Mt Buller. MuggleWife, doing it a little tougher, came over the ridge last and realised that the view was where we were headed (hence the utterances).
After a short walk across this area the climb starts to get serious up the west face. More about this in future episodes/caches as we climb.
To get to the cache, from the parking area (elev 1070m) its a 250 meter walk to the trail head. Once on the trail look for the minor track on the left about 220 meters up the hill from the trail head. Follow this trail past the park boundary sign and on to the GZ (elev 1340m).
The cache is a 1 litre pipe cache with a pen and room for some swaps. A scratchie is included for FTF.
Please replace the cache as found. We hope you enjoy the journey...
