This geocache will bring the seeker to a newly replaced bridge which leads the way into the Greentree Park Development. The former bridge was routinely prone to flooding after any major storm, and this new bridge was a necessity to assure the residents of 160+ homes within the development could get in or out.
Routinely prone to significant flooding after any major storm event, this bridge was completely replaced in 2012 by Dutchess County Public Works. Prior to this new bridge, many of the Greentree Park Development residents would become stranded (sometimes for days) on one side or the other when the creek would overflow. This bridge is a nice example of how Dutchess County is always seeking ways of improving infrastructure in neighborhoods to increase the safety of its residents.
