The Evolution of Homo Quaerens Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

staticman1: I can not overcome the technical difficulties to make this one work since Dropbox changed the way they work. Sadly this means this one can be no more. I will collect the cache next time I am in the area. :-) Thanks to all who found it.

Geocache Description:

Please note this cache is hidden at height. It is 12 metres up, although the tree is not 90 degrees to the ground so you will get nowhere near that height. The cache is not visible from the ground and there are a few approaches up to the cache itself so plan carefully and think before climbing, you and you alone are responsible for your safety. I think the true terrain rating is somewhere between 3* and 4* depending on the season. The cache is not attached, a decision I may revisit so be careful not to drop it. The cache was set using no specialist equipment. You are looking for a black, medium sized Tupperware box.

Tree climbing aside the area is very steep and does get muddy in winter. Good footwear with quality grip is recommended. I suggest sticking to the suggested routes which can be found on maps when entering the woods. The GPS signal is bad in here but generous hints are given; don't feel bad to use them early.

Whilst I have given this the ‘not suitable for children’ attribute, I can not see why for this cache, as with every other cache I have ever found, WELL supervised children can’t enjoy it safely. All physical parts of this cache are unsuitable for wheelchair users.

The cache contains a resident Geocoin and resident Gorilla named Mendel. Both of these are attached to the notebook, please don't remove either from the cache. When originally set the cache contained another Gorilla keyring attached to a travel bug tag. Please DO take this TB if you can help it with its mission.

Most of all have fun and be safe.
