The mill in the name was a windmill at the top of the hill behind Mill Farm, now a private house, and one of around 15 wind and water mills known in the Hitchin area. Sadly, most of these have long gone, and are remembered only in names of roads and houses. The old haybarn and cow sheds were also converted into a house with the byres forming the garages. The cache is a little further on from the farm, at the bottom of the hill; it could be a cache and dash, but the road is narrow and is fairly busy, so please park (Mill Road is easiest) and walk. Apart from cars, the lane is also used a lot by walkers, so can be busy and difficult to be discrete. Following at least 2 containers going missing and a now disappeared (more or less) stump, the cache has been relocated and renamed.
