The Year That Was ... A series to take you down the memory lane of cache placements.
This is a miniature version of the classic "Jasmer" Challenge. This challenge cache is one of a series of challenges focused on finding a cache PLACED in every month of the YEAR specified.
This cache IS at the posted coordinates. You may not claim a find on this cache until you have met the requirements of this Challenge cache. You are welcome to find the cache, post a note and log a “find” once you’ve completed the requirements!
2000 is the year it all started for Geocaching. The US Government turned off Selective Availability on it's GPS satellite system on May 1st making locating places on Earth very accurate. What was to become the first geocache was placed on May 3rd and the rest was history!
The challenge here is simple. Find and log one cache that was PLACED in EACH month starting from May 2000 to December 2000 for a total of 8 qualifying caches, to claim this cache. 2000 will be the most challenging of the Mini Jasmer years as there is a very limited number of caches available. There are no geographic restrictions, the cache can be anywhere in the world. There is no time restriction on when you made the find (previous finds count), the only condition is that the cache was placed in one of the months of 2000.
Rules Summary
- Find and log (at least) one cache placed in every month of the year specified on this mini challenge.
- All types of cache finds count.
- Of course, just like with everything to do with geocaching, you are on the honour system.
- Use the Challenge Checker as proof of fulfilling the challenge portion of this cache.
Please do not park on busy roadways. Review the maps of the area before heading out and find safe parking then take a walk to the cache.
