Geocache Description:


Welcome to Gorilla Mountain. From here you get your first good look at the Gorilla's head. Look north to the red mountains and at the top to the left side you will see a large Gorilla's head. As you approach the mountains the head becomes more apparent. After finding this cache keep going down the trail and explore the awesome red rock formations around Gorilla Mountain. There are also a few more geocaches hidden around Gorilla Mountain. Happy hunting and enjoy exploring this awesome area! This is a great little hike from the OHV trail starting west of Teasdale. You can start from the Black Rocks geocache. It is about 1/2 mile walk from the parking lot. From Hwy 24, head south into Teasdale. At the intersection of State St. and 125 So. (just past the white church), turn right on a gravel road (marked Access to Great Western OHV trail). This road is suitable for most passenger cars. After approximately .9 mi is a sign and parking area for the Great Western OHV trail -- N 38 16.972 W 111 29.573. The trail heads north from the parking area with great views of the red cliffs, and Thousand Lakes mountains in the distance. At .18 mi, (~ N 38 17.382 W 111 29.552) the trail veers to the right, toward an interesting red rock formation.
