Geocache Description:


Congratulations! You’ve found a geocache that is one of a series from the Grand County Water Tour!

This geocache is located in the Town of Winter Park at Confluence Park. Take Rendezvous Way and follow for .3 miles past residential housing. Confluence Park will be on your left shortly after the road turns to dirt.

On the trail take the right fork. After the wooden bridge take the first dirt/grass path on your right.

This cache is hidden very close to the road near the kiosk.

DID YOU KNOW???

  1. Brook trout are the most commonly seen fish in this part of the Fraser River.
  2. This river is shaded by spruce firs and willow stands which give cooler areas for fish to hide under during warmer parts of the day when the sun is shining.
  3. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife conducts electrofishing of this section of the Fraser River. Electrofishing is a process by which professionals use electricity to stun fish before they are caught. After they are counted, weighed and measured they are released back into the river. By doing this they are able to calculate fish population estimates and understand the health of our water systems.
