Geocache Description:

The Cache title is the City's Motto. This is my 1st Cache hide and a 4-H project. I find geocaching fun and challenging at times, I hope you enjoy this challenge.

According to Virtual Nebraska website, Yutan was formed in 1876, when the Omaha & Republican Valley Railroad extended its line from Valley to Lincoln. The town was first called "Clear Creek." The name was changed in 1884 to honor Chief Ietan (pronounced "Yutan") of the Oto-Missouri Indian tribe, who lived just a short distance southeast of the town site from the early 1800s to 1835. Yutan would have been the first Indian settlement seen by fur trappers and military expeditions traveling up the Platte Valley to the Rocky Mountains from the South.

Today's Itan Park is enjoyed by baseball teams as well as family and city activities.  I hope you enjoyed your stop to my small town.
