This is dedicated to Julie ..... more commonly known in the caching community as yakcm!!!! In the Mount Lofty Ranges I have a series of caches known as the "of" series ..... see for example GC2PRYZ or GC4A18T. This is a rather distant extension of this series!
In July of 2013 myself and Mary from AussieM&M took a trip to the Whyalla area to tackle some of the hides around the town, on the road to Iron Knob and out near Port Bonython. As we hadn't cached in this area before Mary contacted Julie to see if she would be our "phone a friend" if the need arose. Julie not only agreed to this but offered to take us to many of the caches around Whyalla.
She gave up her afternoon to give us a great tour of the city and later that evening we caught up with her and her daughter for dinner at a local watering hole! The following day she drove out to the FTF Power Trail to help us hunt for a missing mystery cache.
We know that Julie has generously helped other "out-of-towner" geocachers in this way. Thankkyou Julie for your help! It made our great trip even greater!!!
As we noticed a very, very, very large percentage of hides in the area are micros or nanos this cache might help to bring the local area's average cache size up a bit!! It is a larger regular sized screw top cammo painted container.
It is located in some natural scrub 93m. from the roadside. Inside you will find a logbook, pencil, stashnote and a dozen swaps. Mary also placed a couple of pathtags inside. There is also a FIRST TO FIND Geotool for the first team to make the discovery!
