Geocache Description:

A circular walk from Newton Abbot to Netherton, Haccombe and back.

This is a circular walk from Long Lane, Newton Abbot to Netherton, Haccombe and back. It is approximately 3 and a quarter miles long and consists of 9 caches, all by the path. You will see some views across the Teign over to Bishopsteignton and will pass by thatched cottages, farmland, woods and Haccombe House by the church of St Blaise.

Whichever route you take ends with an uphill walk. I reccommend doing them in order as this way at least most of that is in the shade when it's hot and if you don't like hills it's less of an incline.

There is one very short section on the "main" Newton Abbot to Shaldon road so please be careful here as there are no pavements. There is also a section on a minor road / track.

Some of the tracks are uneven and they can be muddy in parts in winter. The track from no. 4 to no. 5 can flood in places after a lot of rain. There is also a small ford to cross and a path goes up and over it on a bank.

There are no hints for some the caches as they are pretty straightforward, but I will revise this if people have problems. The caches vary in how high off the ground they are and I have taken average waypoints for co-ordinates, but remember that the GPS may be a few feet out under trees.

There are three other caches you can pick up along/near the Meander route if you wish -
GC64MHV Little Bridges 672 - Netherton, (between 3-4)
GC5PMJP Cars - A challenge cache, (between 5-6)
GC5PK37 Church Micro 5733 - Haccombe, (between 5-6)
For the challenge cache, if you have not completed the challenge you may find the cache, sign the log and make a note on the cache page to say you have done so. Then once you have completed the challenge, add a found it log with your evidence and the date you signed the log if different.

Please note that you are unable to access the Waterwell Lane cache - GC2T9ZA on this trail as you will be on the wrong level. If you wish to look for this cache you will need to take a diversion up a footpath between cache numbers 5 & 6.

There is parking for a few cars in Long Lane.

After this cache follow the Netherton Circular walk sign.
