De cache locatie

Het Stadspark Groningen □ ligt aan de zuidwestzijde van de stad Groningen. Het is een gemeentelijk monument. Het park is aangelegd aan het begin van de 20^e eeuw op initiatief van de Groninger industrieel Jan Evert Scholten (1849-1918). Het park werd ontworpen door de landschapsarchitect Leonard Springer, samen met de Groningse directeur van gemeentewerken J.A. Mulock Houwer.

Op 19 mei 1926 vond de officiële opening plaats van het centraal in het park gelegen Stadsparkpaviljoen, waarmee een einde kwam aan de aanleg van het park, die 13 jaar had geduurd.

De hoofdingang van het park ligt aan de Paterswoldseweg, aan de Oostkant van het park. Bijzonder is de toegang 0, die gemarkeerd wordt door 2 stenen zuiltjes met opschrift “Stadspark”, aan de Groningerweg (N372) in Peizermade. Het stadspark begint veel verder naar het oosten en de zuiltjes markeren waarschijnlijk het oude fietspad dat vanaf hier via de Bruilwering naar het Stadspark loopt.

De cache

De cache bevindt zich ergens langs het laantje en is van royaal formaat.
Er kunnen meerdere travel bugs in.

De cache is het thuis-honk van de “mini-birds”, 3 kleine vogeltjes die voortdurend onderweg zijn, terug naar huis. Mocht je één van de vogeltjes thuis aantreffen, laat deze dan in de cache. De cache-owner komt het vogeltje z.s.m. halen om het weer op één van haar vele reizen ver weg los te laten.

About the cache location

The Citypark of Groningen □ is located on the south-west side of the city of Groningen, and is designated as a monument by the municipality. The park was constructed at the start of the 20^th century, on initiative by Jan Evert Scholten (1849-1918), an industrialist hailing from Groningen. The park was designed by landscape-architect Leonard springer, co-operating with J.A. Mulock Houwer, the director of the assets of the municipality at the time.

The park was officially opened on May 19^th, 1926, at the pavilion located at the heart of the park. This event marked the end of the 13 year-long construction effort of the park.

The main entrance is located at the Paterswoldseweg (Patersewoldse-road), on the eastern edge of the park. Interestingly enough, two stone pylons marked with the writings “Stadspark” (citypark) are located at 0, at the Groningerweg (Groninger-road), near the N372 at Peizermade. The border of the park itself lies much farther to the East, and the pylons most likely mark the old bicycle path that runs here via the Bruilwering to the city park.

The cache

The cache is found somewhere near the path, and is of considerable size. It will easily house multiple travel bugs.

The cache is also the home-square of the “mini-birds”; 3 tiny birds that are constantly traveling back towards home. Should you happen to find one of the birds at their home, please leave them inside the cache. The owner of the cache will be along shortly to collect the bird, only to release it again on one of her many journeys to faraway lands.
