Geocache Description:

A brown face with whiskers, a grave round face, with a twinkle in its eye.

Small neat ears and thick silky hair.

It was the Water Rat.

This is a short series of child friendly caches based on The Wind In The Willows.  The idea came after reading the book with the little C.A.K.E.s and somehow this walk along the river bank and through the fields between Brysadler and Miskin seemed appropriate.

The walk starts from the A4222 in Brynsadler (see waypoint) can be done as a loop back along the roads through Miskin and Pontyclun or can be linked to the footpaths south of the M4 (the Miskin / Hensol road can be used to cross under the M4) that wind back through Talygan where both the Trinity's Walk and Talygarn Trail cache series can be both be done.

The cache itself is a magnetic micro containinng only a log sheet so no room for swaps or travel bugs - please bring your own writing implement.  The footpath along the river bank can also get very muddy particularly after rain so is not suitable wheelchairs or pushchairs.  There are also several gates, stiles and a set of steps.  Please also keep an eye on the little ones as there are places where the river is quite close including at the cache site.
