This place is kind of a land mark in my own mind. When we met a new local friend and got in to the topic of where he lives and he started giving directions, he said "and then you turn right at the hanging tree" and I laughed cause it was weird as soon as he said that I thought of this half dead tree on the side of the road and instantly knew what he was talking about. Now, years later I have decided it is a great place for a cache site. Beware there are alot of ants at the cache site, but myself and my 4 kids were able to wonder around easily without bothering them or them us while trying to find a place to actually place the cache.
This is a neat little large micro type container I found on line, and keeping with our Epilepsy Awareness theme(purple & Purple butterflies), you are looking for a Purple Butterfly which you will find is attached to the container. I would consider this a quick park and grab.
We are starting this series that we plan to spread out around our area and beyond in hopes to spread Epilepsy awareness in our daughters name. Our daughter was one of the unfortunate few it chose to strike hard at the age of 5 and she has been on an absolute rollercoaster ride since. This condition has changed our now 7yr old beauty in so many ways, its taken her self-confidence, and outgoing nature most of all thanks to the lack of knowledge others have on the condition and their reactions to her. She is still absolutely perfect to us though, and recently on her good days she has taking to exploring and really enjoying geocaching together with our family. So we figured what better way to spread awareness than with something she loves to do.
Epilepsy can strike anyone at any time and any age. Effects over 50 million people worldwide and 65-70% of the cases are Idiopathic, which mean they have an unknown cause. A seizure is the brains way of protecting itself from a build-up of electricity in the body its like a reset button on a computer. You may find them scary and frightening to see but put yourself in the shoes of the person it is happening to and then you will know the true meaning of fear. There is many different kinds of seizures and modern day meds have found ways of controlling them for some people. It is said that 40% of people with epilepsy will die a seizure related death(accidental while having a seizure, seizure complications and sudden death in epilepsy being amongst these causes). November is national Epilepsy Awareness Month and March 26th every year is Purple day, wear you purple in support of those battling a very unpredictable condition.
We hope you enjoy our series and will continue to enjoy it as it grows.
