The cache itself is a traditional one using the standard Sistema container. Of course it contains the usual notebook, writing implements and some little starter goodies. There is a FTF certificate and a prize that my young daughters chose - nothing stunning but it's not about the prizes - is it?
To get to it you will need to park your vehicle at the coordinates given, hop over the stile at the carpark and then walk along the well worn path. There is one more stile to cross before you reach your destination - please stick to these paths as once you cross the first stile you are on private property. The owner has established this "common way" in liaison with WA's national parks management people and it has been maintained and run well for at least 15 years - please respect this. You enter the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park once you cross the second stile.
If you are walking in using the Cape to Cape Track, you'll be following the well established CTC Track running either north or south - you'll already be aware of coastal conservation and the need to stay "on the path".
Having mentioned conservation, you do not need to go off the path to locate the cache - the coastal vegetation is easily damaged. Please also be aware of the fact that if you go past the cache location, you are heading towards 35-40m seacliffs. Whilst these are a good few hundred metres away from the cache itself, the location lends itself to exploration so it is always nice to know these things if you have never been here before.
Bring your climbing gear, a camera, or just an open mind - you can enjoy the experience here in so many ways. The beach to the south of the cliffs can also provide some excellent swimming in the pools on a warm summers day.
And finally, if you come here at the right time of the year, you may well spot one of the 35000 whales that migrate past this point every year or be able to see the dolphins in the early morning as they surf down the waves below the cliffs. As I said, it's an awesome location!
