In summer months, Bohinj and its lake are popular refuge from the heath. If you are coming to swim or paddle on the lake, you may as well take some extra effort and join fellow geocachers on the published coordinates in the lake flash mob event. The official part of the event will start at 11.00 on published coordinates, where logbook will be open for 15 minutes (until 11.15). We will then try to create a pattern with boats or whatever floating devices will appear and leave. You can then continue to enjoy the lake, search for other Bohinj geocaches and/or have lunch, and if you are done by 17.00, you can join an informal gathering and trackable exchange in Zoisov grad restaurant in Bohinjska Bistrica (just accross the street of a cache with the same name).
Please note that informal gathering is not officially a part of the event and there will be no logbook to sign. Only cachers, that will sign the logbook on the lake by 11.15 will be allowed to log the event as attended. So swim, paddle, jump in with a parachute, zorb in or even walk on the water, but be there at 11.00 sharp!
Important:
1. the event itself will take place at published coordinates on Bohinj lake from 11.00 to 11.15. Only geocachers, that will sign the logbook on the lake during this time, will be able to log the event as attended.
2. there are boats to rent in Ribčev Laz. It will take at least half an hour to paddle from Ribčev Laz to the event location (and even more if you are less experienced), so we suggest that you start well in advance.
3. our team can not take extra passengers, but there might be other teams that have a shared ride available.
4. unofficial gathering with trackable exchange will take place at 17.00 at Zoisov grad restaurant in Bohinjska Bistrica at N 46 16.166 E 013 56.961 (see waypoint).
