Geocache Description:

Adopted by TheWeeThree to assist The Weebles with maintenance.

During the warmer summer months we have spent a fair bit of time battling various bugs during our geocaching adventures.  In honour of the creatures of the phylum Arthropoda, we placed these five samples for your pleasure.  Just glad that we did not encounter any specimens as big as these in our recent travels. The trail is well travelled and may be some wet areas depending on the time of year.  Boots may be required.

Caches contain only a log sheet and as with our other series, you will need tweezers and a writing tool. The trail is well travelled and easily accessible from Old Broad Cove Road, and there should be plenty of parking spaces available.

#1: This guy is the most destructive insect pest of pine in the southern United States. This guy has been responsible for an estimated $900 million of damage to pine forests from 1960 through 1990. This aggressive tree killer is a native insect that lives predominantly in the inner bark of pine trees.  Hope the cache log remains intact.
