Caches contain only a log sheet and as with our other series, you will need tweezers and a writing tool. The trail is well travelled and easily accessible from Old Broad Cove Road, and there should be plenty of parking spaces available.
#3: These are very social creatures that have evolved from wasp-like ancestors between 110 and 130 million years ago More than 12,500 out of an estimated total of 22,000 species have been classified. They are easily identified by their elbowed antennae and a distinctive node-like structure that forms a slender waist. They live in small natural cavities to highly organized colonies that may occupy large territories and consist of millions of individuals. Larger colonies consist mostly of sterile wingless females forming castes of "workers", "soldiers", or other specialized groups. We have encountered several of these in our caching adventures.
The trail is well travelled and may be some wet areas depending on the time of year. Boots may be required.
