EVENT CACHE: August 31, Saturday Noon to 3:45 p.m.
Mirror Lake, lake pavilion
This event is planned to give us all a reason to celebrate our big End-of-August Caching Activities! What better way than with great friends, fresh air, outdoor cooking, and a couple pages of awesome caches within walking distance?
Some people hold off big celebrations and end up missing them altogether! Instead of waiting until our 50th, we're going full-steam into a Big Celebration for our 48th! I know none of you can believe this, so I always say that we were an arranged marriage and we married in our infancy!
I have rented the Mirror Lake Municipal Park pavilion that is nearest the lake. There is a Kids Don't Float board in case you have little ones who need vests. There is usually enough of a breeze to discourage the bug population, but bring bug dope or wear a bug jacket and gloves if you wish.
I did not buy an additional alcohol permit because this is a family event and because we do not celebrate that way anyway.
Bring your own chairs if you wish.
Please BE SURE to log the NUMBER you're bringing in the Will Attend response so I can plan for enough food!
This is a RAIN OR SHINE event!
Will be provided: hot dogs, buns, condiments, chips, pop, licorice, paper plates, and plastic -ware. Bring food to share if you wish, but you don't need to.
Schedule: Arrive and leave any time between noon and 3:45. Sign in!
Cooking commences by 12:30, eat when ready
There are big playing fields and other things to do at this park. Go for some awesome nearby caches!
1:00 - group pictures; cachers are encouraged to include their own pictures when logging the Attended spot on the cache page.
When done, or by 1:30 - drawing for FTF position (cachers only; I may have family members or non-caching friends who will not be entered in this drawing).
Play, eat, fellowship, have fun until we must Leave Without a Trace at 3:45. We may still use the rest of the park, just not the pavilion.
The fun part is that my family is already planning for the party, but none of them know that I am also inviting a state-full of friends! An ammo can previously generously donated by our inimitable cavyguy will be present to receive TBs if you wish to leave any. It'll be placed during the following week and will be named 48 - Why Wait? Ammo Can.
If you wish (and only if you wish), please add the number of years that you have been married when you sign in. It would be fun to close the event page with a total number of married years for those in attendance!
We hope to see lots of you there! I mentioned this to BP at last night's Dinner With a Goatherd event, so we already have events in planning for both the first and last days of August - yee haw!
