This cache is at the top of the older and more difficult Little House Mountain trail. When doing this hike you will have two choices once you reach the saddle between little and big house mt. Option one is to take the easier and clearly marked trail that first branches off to the right. It winds its way slowly to the top and will get you where you want to go. OR for the more adventurous hiker you can walk down the overgrown grassy path to the trailhead coordinates and take the trail (marked in blue once you bush wack your way to the forest) that goes pretty much straight up the mountain. It is more strenuous and challenging than the first trail but if you are in good shape and like a more challenging path this way is for you. Plan on AT LEAST 4 hours round trip to make it to the overlook farther on down the trail. I would highly recommend going on a clear day to maximize your viewing pleasure at the overlook. Also make sure you come prepared with water and snacks or a lunch. For about the first 45 min of this hike the trail is a road that has private property along it. PLEASE stay on the trail and respect all posted signs. Also DO NOT DRIVE PAST THE SIGN POST BY THE PARKING COORDINENTS! It is a private drive and there is no parking up it.
Hunting is allowed in the area up on top around house MT so please use caution during hunting season and wear orange.
