Geocache Description:

Some of the best adventures with my daughter have been Geochaching. Tori's Treasures is to share the learning and love of Geochaching with everyone, especially young Geochachers!. Kid friendly starting at one of her favorite playgrounds then a small adventure through the local quiet neighborhood. Bring a compass which can read in accordance with TRUE NORTH.

This was a neat adventure where Tori got to learn how to use a compass. So we are sharing this for all... The starting point is the bike rack which will take you through a tour of the playground, then the quaint little neighborhood. I used the compass on the "flashlight" app on my phone to gather the information set to true north. This is a little easier for the lil' ones since magnetic north can vary greatly at the angle its held. It is not exact (everything is line of sight) and should be easy to follow for lil' ones.

***UPDATED 4/14/14: After being stolen twice, I extended the compass hunt and added a stage with the coordinates of the final location. The difficulty has been moved up to a 3.0/2.5 since it is now about a 0.5 mile hike in total and there is a steep hill into where the final location is. It is still Kid friendly as tested by Tori herself! The final stage is not far off the beaten path. While there is a little room for swag in the treasure cache, please leave nothing, but we encourage you to take a piece of treasure for your geo-swag collection! The purpose is to share the love which was perfect to start our first cache. Have fun!

1) Travel 3 degrees North until you are at a bench.

2) Travel 290 degrees West to the tree.

3) From there it's 155 degrees South East to another bench.

4) 148 degrees South East will take you to another tree nearby.....

5) Turn to 95 degrees East, walk 8 to 10 adult paces straight down the path, and the treasure will be down and to the left.  This is where the original container was...It is no longer here... From here:

6) Continue down the garden path to the far gate.

7) Once outside the gate, turn due North and follow to the octagon ruby.

8) 128 degrees South East from there will being you to the green and yellow emerald.

9) Turning 184 degrees south, A pentagon with pedestrians is your next destination.

10) Once you face 97 degrees East, another octagon ruby will mark a crossroad.

11) A turn 162 degrees South you will follow the crossroad all the way to the yellow diamond.

12) In the yellow diamond, you will find a nano with the coordinates of the final stage nearby.
