In the early 1960’s, a family run entertainment adventure named Kiddieland came to town much to the delight of kids for all the fun rides and to the adults for the jobs it provided. Galesburg’s history as a railroad town made it inevitable that a train ride would be an integral part of the fun & it circled the perimeter of the park and was a ride of choice for the younger customers. So circle the area and….listen for all those rides – the Ferris wheel, tilt a whirl, boat ride, train ride, merry-go-round….even bumper cars…and as Tom Wilson said. “The soul of Kiddieland is long gone. The voices of joy from area children, the light in the sky and spinning rides are nowhere to be seen, but will long be remembered.” …have fun finding this hide!
